'Government changing rules on pensions'

Sunday Times 21st February 2010 - an article appeared which has caused numerous enquiries to Federation Offices across the country.

Ian Rennie - General Secretary of the Police Federation of England and Wales says, 'I am still receiving enquiries regarding the recent publicity relating to the government's proposed pension rule changes from the 6th April 2010. I can confirm that these proposed changes do not affect police officers.'

Simply put, Police Pensions are subject of separate legislation which is unaffected by this announcement.
