Compulsory Redundancy

I am pleased to be able to inform you that at National Chiefs Council today the Chief Constables voted against pushing for compulsory redundancy at this time. I am lead to believe that the motion was that they did not want to revisit the PAT decision at this time, rather that they would continue to seek to modernise the workforce (both staff and officer) to make the relevant savings required by central Govt.

It is of course possible that this decision will have to be revisited in light of any future changes to the Police budget, but at this time the right decision has been made.
